Lay the Guns Down Now Foundation

Our work is grounded in advocacy, education, and community engagement.

We partner with local leaders, faith groups, and grassroots organizations to:

  • Support survivors and grieving families through direct resources and outreach
  • Create opportunities for youth to prevent cycles of violence
  • Advocate for policies and programs that address gun violence at its root

We have organized and participated in memorial events, marches, and initiatives focused on gun violence prevention long before launching Hope Over Hate. This concert is an extension of that work.

A Mission Born from Loss

Founder Mike Tucker knows firsthand the pain of losing a loved one to gun violence. After the tragic loss of his son, he turned his grief into action. He has spent years working with families, organizing events, and building support systems for those impacted by violence.

Why This Matters

Gun violence is concentrated in the same neighborhoods year after year, disproportionately affecting communities of color.
